We welcome anyone curious about or working with bibliometrics and research impact indicators across Canada, to join the Bibliometrics and Research Impact Community Call. The agenda is simple: we want to get folks talking, connecting, and building collaborations. We welcome everyone, including those working outside of libraries, to join this call. This call is intended to start building connections and learning from one another. Therefore, we will build from the inaugural Can. BRI Call where we explored tools, staffing, services, and responsible use of metrics. These calls are in collaboration with the CARL Advancing Research Committee, and the Bibliometrics and Research Impact Community (BRIC), host of the annual BRIC Conference. These calls are intended to connect our community between more formal events like the BRIC Conference. This 60-minute call will be facilitated by Laura Bredahl, Bibliometrics and Research Impact Librarian at the University of Waterloo and Thane Chambers, Research Impact Librarian at the University of Alberta and Phillipe Boisvert, Bibliothécaire spécialiste en bibliométrie et impact de la recherche, Université Laval. Co-moderators will be on hand to ensure participants are able to contribute to the conversation in English or French.

Nous invitons toutes les personnes canadiennes intéressées par la bibliométrie et l’impact de la recherche à joindre notre Communauté de pratique en bibliométrie et impact de la recherche pour le Canada, y compris celles qui sont simplement curieuses ou qui ne travaillent pas dans une bibliothèque. Notre but est simple : nous voulons amener les gens à se parler, à établir des relations et à collaborer. Nous allons poursuivre ce qui avait été amorcé lors de la rencontre inaugurale de 2021 dans laquelle avaient été explorés les outils, le personnel, les services et l’utilisation responsable des métriques. Cette invitation est faite avec la collaboration du Comité sur l’avancement de la recherche de l’ACRL, ainsi que la Bibliometrics and Research Impact Community (BRIC), qui est l’hôte du congrès annuel BRIC. Ce dernier est complémentaire aux rencontres plus informelles de notre Communauté de pratique, qui viseront à maintenir des liens en continu entre nous. La prochaine rencontre à laquelle nous vous invitons durera 60 minutes et sera animée par trois bibliothécaires spécialistes en bibliométrie et en impact de la recherche : Laura Bredahl (de l’University of Waterloo), Thane Chambers (de l’University of Alberta) et Philippe Boisvert (de l’Université Laval). Les participants pourront contribuer aux conversations en français ou en anglais.
